The Ceramic Materials Atlas began with a simple idea: to trace the materials typically used in the Ceramics Studio at Colorado State University back to through the global supply chain, to their sources from the surface of the earth.
The project has been supported by Colorado State University, The School for Global Environmental Sustainability, and the Center for Craft.
The Ceramic Materials Atlas is very much a work in progress, fluid and evolving, much like the surface of our planet.
It was initiated by Del Harrow, Kate Zynda, Lynn Badia, Cody Cooke, and Rose Stainthorpe, and has been built by an expanding group of contributors.
If you would like to support the project, or would like to join the expanding group of contributors – with writing, data visualization, GIS Mapping, or any other ideas you might have – please contact del.harrow@gmail.com
